A Modern Day Miracle: Lady Gaga Says She Is Celibate!

Believe it or not, like all miracles; this is a matter of faith.  But we got a Telephone call that Lady Gaga has stated in an interview that there is nothing wrong with being celibate. In fact she is celibate herself! If this doesn't turn the world on it's head and part the Red Sea, nothing will.

Nuns Taking Up The Mixed-Martial Arts?

So with the next generation of Catholics playing with their WII and their You Books and Face Spaces it may be time for some of the religious orders to do some cross-marketing. What do the kids like to watch on the tee-vee? The MMA: mixed-martial arts also sometimes branded under the UFC "cage-fighting" matches. Is that Christians versus lions or what?

Un-Holy Water

Sometimes you feel like a nut...sometimes you don't. We saw this un-holy water at a friends house. You can choose the angel or the devil according to your mood. We asked if there was something special about the water? Nope it's just water, but very clever water.

Growing Up Catholic Now The Longest Continuously In Print Catholic Book Since The Bible

Well, maybe that is a bit of an overstatement, but someone told me that Growing Up Catholic has now been in print continuously, without interruption, for 25 years! Nothing stays in print for 25 years! The Nuns Having Fun Calendars (co-authored by two of the Growing Up Catholic authors) will be entering their 8th year with more to come.

For all those Catholics who enjoyed them, God bless!

Nuns Finance Trip To Vatican With Bake Sales And Trips To The Casino

The Little Sisters of the Poor from San Pedro, California wanted to go to the canonization ceremony of their founder Jeanne Jugan to be held at the Vatican. But since they are a "begging" order they couldn't just go to the cash machine, so according to the LA Times:

"To raise the nearly $10,000 they needed for the trip, the sisters held more than 20 fundraisers in three months. They sold hamburgers, nachos, hot dogs, Italian sausages, omelets, waffles and baked potatoes. They held bake sales, ice cream socials and a rummage sale. Twice they raised money by taking residents to a casino, and last week, in one of their final events, they hosted a country-western hoedown in their auditorium, complete with hay stacks and line dancing."

Where there is a will; there is a way.

What do The Eagles, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, Snoop Dogg, Yoko Ono and The Pope Have In Common?

They all have a contract with super entertainment mogul David Geffen. Yes, Il Papa has landed a big fish contract to produce an album. Let's hope the Pope gets The Stone Poneys to back him up or that he does covers from Late For The Sky.

Pope Breaks Wrist: New York Times Concerned

I wonder if this is the hard news version of gossip sites paying attention to every little detail of Jon & Kate (our secular saints of the many. many children.) No jokes, just hard news from Nuns Having Fun Calendar 2010! and the Growing Up Catholic books!
